Low-Radiation Digital X-rays

We incorporate dental X-rays into all of our comprehensive exams because many serious problems with the teeth and jawbones can’t be seen with the naked eye. Digital X-rays help us identify and diagnose:

• Small areas of decay between teeth
• Cavities below existing restorations
• Fractures, cracks, and structural abnormalities
• Cysts, tumors, and abscesses in the soft tissues
• Occlusal (bite) irregularities

We use the handheld Nomad® digital X-ray device to ensure that you are exposed to the least amount of radiation possible. This light, portable device enables us to complete the task quickly while still giving Dr. Jone high-quality images to use for diagnosing. Because digital X-rays don’t require any chemical processing, the images are available for review on our computer screen immediately.

Panoramic X-ray

We also have digital panoramic X-rays, which help us visualize your entire mouth instead of isolating selected areas. This full view is especially helpful in complex dental implant cases and orthodontic treatments like Invisalign.

Laser Dentistry

For patients needing gum or soft tissue surgery, Dr. Jone uses the AMD Picasso 7-Watt laser. Laser dentistry is not only more comfortable than traditional dental surgery; it’s also more convenient! Our soft tissue laser enables Dr. Jone to perform many complex soft tissue procedures in-house, so you don’t have to schedule multiple visits with specialists.

Our soft tissue laser offers numerous benefits over conventional gum and soft tissue surgery, including:

Intraoral Cameras

Digital photographs taken with our intraoral cameras give us a clearer view of areas that can be difficult to see in a standard visual exam, especially the back molars. These high-resolution images are also a vital patient education tool, enabling Dr. Jone to give you a more complete understanding of your dental health and treatment needs.

Dental Loupes

Dental loupes allow us to get a better view of your mouth by providing magnification when and where we need it, from simple cleanings where we utilize 2.5x loupes to delicate root canals where we use 5.0x magnification. Dental loupes allow us to be more precise than ever during your treatment.

We abide by all ADA and OSHA recommended standards to make our Daly City dental practice a clean and safe place for your family. Before your visit, we disinfect every piece of equipment with state-of-the-art sterilization technology and thoroughly sanitize each room. We also perform routine spore testing through an independent third-party laboratory to ensure that all of our sterilization equipment is working properly.
