SEDATION DENTISTRY

When our modern amenities and friendly staff aren’t enough to help you relax, ask Dr. Jone about sedation dentistry. We offer oral conscious sedation and nitrous oxide (laughing gas).

Oral Conscious Sedation

With oral conscious sedation, just one pill can help you feel completely relaxed throughout your entire appointment. We can perform almost any treatment with the help of oral conscious sedation, from filings and deep cleanings to wisdom teeth removal. Your visit will be over before you know it!

Laughing Gas

Laughing gas is one of the safest anti-anxiety agents used in dentistry. When inhaled, this sweet-smelling gas creates a sense of giddiness and relaxation, which is how it earned the nickname “laughing gas.” Because it can be administered with only a small mask over the nose (no shots), laughing gas is a great option for patients of all ages and for individuals who have a strong gag reflex that interferes with dental treatment.

Practically Painless Injections with DentalVibe®

Did you know that most of the discomfort you feel during a dental procedure is the initial numbing shot? We can reduce and sometimes even eliminate this discomfort in just two easy steps.

Before we get started, we will apply a high-strength topical numbing gel at the site of the injection. A few minutes later, once the area is significantly numb, we’ll administer the anesthetic using a device called the DentalVibe®. The DentalVibe emits ultrasonic vibrations that travel to the brain faster than the sensation of pain, effectively block the sensation of an injection. The best part? The DentalVibe doesn’t even look like a needle, which is often a big relief for anxious patients—especially kids!

IV Sedation

While our office offers oral conscious and nitrous oxide sedation to patients who have mild to moderate anxiety, we value the importance of extending our sedation dentistry menu to include a deeper level of sedation for patients who need it. Whether you are scheduled for a more complex dental procedure, such as extractions or bone grafting, or you suffer from a profound dental phobia, IV deep sedation may the best solution for you.
