Whether you think teeth are fascinating, gross, or you just don't care, even you'll be mind blown by these tooth-themed world records.
So, are you ready?
The oldest person to grow a brand new tooth was 92 years and 144 days old. Erna Kohane (hailing from the USA) was born on August 24, 1921. Her new tooth was first spotted in Mount Arlington, New Jersey, USA on January 15, 2014.
The widest mouth belongs to Francisco Domingo Joaquim "Chiquinho" from Angola. His chomper was measured in Rome, Italy on the set of Lo Show dei Record on March 18, 2010. Next time you enter a hot dog eating contest, call this guy to be your second. His mouth measures 17 cm (6.69 inches).
If you're feeling nervous about having wisdom teeth removed, just think of Matthew Adams from the USA. He was born on November 19, 1992 and had his lower two wisdom teeth removed in Midland, MI, on October 24, 2002 when he was just 9 years and 339 days old. The teeth were removed due to overcrowding.
If you though Francisco Domingo Joaquim had a big mouth, it's time to reevaluate. The largest mouth of all land animals belongs to½.
the hippopotamus! The hippo (aka Hippopotamus amphibius) can open its jaws to almost 180 full degrees. If you aren't quite sure what that means, think of a straight line. That's 180 degrees. For male hippos, this is an average of 1.2 meters (4 feet).
